Preheat the oven to 160 ºC.
Sift the flour and baking powder and mix with a pinch of salt.
In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, maple syrup, sugar and all the spices with the whisk. Season with salt and pepper.
Gradually pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir well until there are no lumps. This can also be done with the mixer.
Pour the batter into a baking tin lined with baking paper and decorate with the nuts.
Bake the gingerbread in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Check with a skewer whether it is done: if no batter sticks to the stick, the cookie is ready!
Start timer for 45 minutes
Let cool and cut into slices.
